Alaska.org - Web Copy & Site Refresh

WEB COPY / EDITING

Web Copy / Site Refresh

I first worked with Alaska.org, one of Alaska’s top travel sites, back in 2013. At the time, they were missing landing copy for some crucial destinations. I wrote summary paragraphs for Whittier and the Palmer/Wasilla area, including links to businesses and events to drive more traffic to their respective pages.

Fast forward to 2020, and Alaska.org asked if I could help with their major site redesign. The old site was made up of hundreds of pages, and many were in dire need of edits, updates, and fresh copy. In addition to writing and editing, I worked with their team to organize and archive old pages, implement copy and image assets directly into the CMS, and QA the site for bugs.

The new web copy included summaries for landing pages, article subheads, taglines, and SEO.

It was quite the effort, but the new site is streamlined (though still quite large) and much easier to navigate.
